Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just enjoying my first coffee of the day, in silence - apart from the birds & the odd car passing by.

I'm off up to get dressed shortly to go and get my DBS check for Guiding. It's an hour away, by bus, so dd1 has made me a playlist she thinks I'll like 🤔

The girls are staying here, with their dad, so when I'm done I'll come back to sort out dd1's hair then nip them to town for Father's day presents.

Hopefully we'll not be out too long!

This afternoon I want to have a look at my CV, and start applying for new jobs. I expect the girls will be busy Minecrafting.

No idea what's for tea yet but a glass or two of wine will definitely feature, for me.

Good morning
I dropped ds at work at 7am. Came back and cleaned up, put washing in and out.

Had some tea and toast.

Going to walk the dogs before it gets too warm, go up and check on the horses.

Then I'm going to do some painting at dd's new house, come back sun bathe for a bit then have a family BBQ.
It's my 1st weekend off in weeks and I'm so ready for this!

Taking the toddler to a farm park this morning, we're both very excited

Going to pick up an Argos order and potter about in the garden later .

Got to clean the house from top to bottom as nothing done during last week

Sounds nice! I’m not enjoying the fact that DS with ADHD and an adolescent Labrador are conspiring to make my nights sleepless again. But it’s sunny and I’m determined to make the most of it. We’ve already done an early dog walk. DH and DD are out at her music school this morning. I’m going to have a tidy round and spend an hour pottering in the garden. Then DS and I will have a swim at the gym. Then off to the garden centre and to buy meat at the farm shop. DS has a party this afternoon before friends come for an evening bbq. As I say, I’m determined to enjoy it but a sleepless night on top of a stressful week means there might be a little mummy meltdown....

Was woken early by the dog, annoying as it was the first time in the last few days that I’ve managed to get back to sleep after waking at about 4am.
Had a peaceful couple of hours with the others in bed. Just about to have a frothy coffee while still in my PJ’s.
I’m planning on doing as little as possible today.

Just having some breakfast with a bit of Saturday Kitchen, then I’ll potter down to the farmers market to get some bits for a barbecue and for the freezer later. DH normally comes with me and is very indecisive but he’s gone off cycling this morning so I get to go and make all the decisions, I’ll be finished in half the time! Might treat myself to a Costa. I was going to go for a run later ahead of a nice afternoon in the garden and a glass of wine with barbecue, but I have a painful knee so I’ll settle for a walk to get some steps in. Just a bit of laundry to sort in between as the other housework is done. Looking forward to a relaxing day. Have a lovely day everyone!

Morning :) Just did a bit of gardening before it gets too hot. In an hour we will head off to see my brother and have lunch with him. Hopefully a nice walk in the sunshine.

Then relaxing afternoon, I will do some cross stitch while DS plays/watches something.

Dinner is a Gousto meal.

Taking DS to see my friend and her DS who he's never met before cos of covid! Looking forward to him actually meeting other kids and seeing how he interacts. We will probably do lunch and then go to a park.

I’ve been up since 5 AM, and had been awake for at least an hour previous to that. I’m on my 5th hot drink of the morning: decaf coffee - tea - decaf coffee - tea - tea again. I’ve just had two pieces of granary toast with butter and yeast extract. So good.

I’ve whiled away the hours watching calming, relaxing videos on YouTube, by a Korean woman who lives in NY.

DH will likely wake up in the next hour or so. I will make us filtered coffee and we might have a slice of apple cake (baked yesterday) with it, which I’ll warm through gently in the oven before serving.

Later we will do some work on our wrought iron fence at the front. It’s in quite a state so we are taking it back to bare metal and repainting.

Then we’ll probably go for a good long walk.

I’ll call my girls for a weekend catch-up, as well.

Lunch will be a salad, dinner will be steak sandwiches with fresh ciabatta, made by DH. With wine.

We’ll settle into bed at about 8 PM (we’re quite middle aged these days😉)and watch a film.

It's my birthday, so I'm planning my day. I have to go to the butcher, and take ds to the barber but otherwise no obligations,

Ds forgot to get me anything (he's 12) so we're going out later to choose me something. I'm meeting up with some friends for a drink in a pub garden later. Then I'm going to make my favourite seafood risotto for supper, and lemon drizzle cake.
Very relaxed.

It's just after 4:30pm here, Saturday evening. I've actually slept most of the day after being unwell in the night and not getting to sleep until nearly 6am!

I did do a load of washing and hung it out. Watched a bit of Netflix. Snoozed with the cat!

Pretty nice way to spend a day 9I feel heaps better)

I’ve always wanted to go see it live but never had opportunity so far

Lazy morning tbh. Seen to the horses and walked the dogs, which I combined with a quick check on the livestock, and now I’m on the sofa, with the patio doors thrown wide open, eating my breakfast and listening to the birdsong.
I’ll ride later but I have little else planned. I’m unlikely to see my husband as he’ll be back long after I go to bed, so another day to myself to potter about.
If the sun really makes an effort I may work on trying to even out some terrible tan lines on my shoulders. It’s a hard life

I've got my brother coming round in a little while then tonight we're off for our covid jabs. I've done a couple of loads of washing today and the cleaner has been. A relaxed one all in all.

I've been out to buy a few groceries for tomorrow's cook-out.
It will be jerk-seasoned chicken, mango salsa, coconut rice, sweet potato fries and grilled pineapple.

Today is a pretty calm day. I'll do some tidying of my kitchen and I'll be having a zoom call with my sister. Today is the 40th anniversary of our mother's death (we were 18 and 10 then) so it will be nice to remember her as much as we can and one of our mother's sisters will be joining us so she'll be able to tell us stories about their childhood, which never grows old with us.

@elp30 - your food sounds amazing! I'm glad you can remember your mum with your sister and your aunt. My mum died 40 years ago too, when I was 5 - I know it was around June, I don't know the exact date as no-one ever talks about it.

I've been listening to Cornelius Cardew, done a bit of weeding, worried about DH because he was out walking for longer than usual and I couldn't contact him. Turned out his phone battery died, all's well that ends well

Caught up on laundry this morning, then we went out for a lovely lunch with friends followed by the afternoon at the beach. Such a nice day Now relaxing at home, DCs are watching a film. When they go to bed DH and I will just relax in front of the TV
