Why am I suddenly getting blisters?

Every pair of shoes I wear now give me blisters, they never did before.

Have my feet suddenly gone feeble or is this yet another symptom of peri menopause?

Maybe your feet are now larger and you’re buying your old size. In mid 50s here and I wear a half size bigger (not wider - haven’t put on weight or puffiness). Also have you spent a year padding round largely in slippers ? Have your feet spread out a bit ?

Slippers and trainers I meant.

Shoes seem to fit fine. I'm tempted to be barefoot everywhere 😂

I would go up a half size. If it was one pair of shoes I would say the sizing was off on it but more than one I would say your feet/foot has grown. I went for a 40 to a 41 in my early thirties with no weight gain etc.

Or hang on - if you’ve been wearing shoes less or stiffer shoes less then your feet will have softened ? Maybe just need a little surgical spirit treatment if half size up doesn’t sound right ?
