Hi All

Sorry maybe a bit boring topic but I'm struggling with my two toddlers at Meal time. I've running out of ideas of meals.

If anyone could share your toddler favourite meals I appreciate

His absolute favourite is salmon, potatoes and green beans. Next probably spag bol and then anything that involves houmous.

ineedsleepineedsleep · 11/06/2021 12:54

Pasta, pesto, peas with cheese on top... default answer whenever you ask him what he would like for dinner!!

Snowwhite83 · 11/06/2021 12:56

Corn on the cob and ribs or meatballs

LlamaGiles · 11/06/2021 12:58

Cauliflower cheese

burritofan · 11/06/2021 12:58

Egg mayo sandwiches. Red pesto pasta. Sausages. Anything involving potatoes: roast dinner, mashed potato, potato salad. She basically is 90% potato at this point. Absolutely anything I’m eating that they must have immediately.

meow1989 · 11/06/2021 12:58

Sausages beans and chips 🤦‍♀️ he only gets it at a restaurant

Mine likes

pasta bolgnaise
Chicken curry and rice
A chicken pasta with white sauce, cheese and any veg I have to hand in

RainingZen · 11/06/2021 13:06

Minty lamb-mince kebabs and rice with veg
Bolognese
Roasted red peppers stuffed with lamb mince and cous cous
Boiled eggs and toast
Sweetcorn (if there is sweetcorn , nothing else gets eaten, I have to ration it)
Fish pie as long as there is a lot of smoked fish in it
Spring rolls
Chicken and veg teriyaki and egg noodles
Salmon teriyaki and rice noodles

Everyday21 · 11/06/2021 13:14

My nearly 3yo loves most things which is a relief compared to their older sibling.

favourites are prawn curry, any pasta with a homemade sauce, sausages and mash and a roast beef dinner

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 11/06/2021 13:15

2 yo- fish pie, pasta bolognaise, shepherds pie

4 yo - will only eat pizza, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, plain pasta and any kind of potato 😔

MeadowHay · 11/06/2021 13:18

To be honest probably the only meal that mine will always eat without fail is spaghetti or pasta bolognaise! With grated cheese on top, and we are veggie so make it with frozen veggie mince.

Bookworm19 · 11/06/2021 13:18

2 yr old: anything with eggs. Pasta pesto. Homemade pizza. And broccoli, the kid absolutely loves broccoli!

StevieNix · 11/06/2021 13:25

DS (age 3) is going through a fussy phase at the moment so the meals aren’t the healthiest but the meals he enjoys are:

Pasta and meatballs (with veg hidden in the sauce)
Sausages, roast potatoes, sweet corn, peas and gravy
Pork belly and stir fried noodles, with veg
Chicken escalopes with potato salad
Chicken korma and rice
Smoked boiled gammon joint, mash, peas and cheese sauce
Fish fingers, cheesy mash and baked beans
Scampi, chips and mushy peas
Smoked bacon medallions, potato waffles, baked beans
Vegetable soup and crusty bread
Tuna and rice salad - cold white rice, can of tuna, any veg (eg tomatoes, cucumber, peas, sweet corn, grated carrot) mixed all together with a bit of mayonnaise

Unicorn88 · 11/06/2021 13:37

My dd ( age3) always been very fussy eater, her favourite meal is pizza, but we only have it once a week.
I'm not cooking separate meals so they will eat whatever we're having .
Dd ( age 1) was very good when the started weaning, now she's as fussy as her sister
I try to have soup made most of the days, not always they're having it, depends on their mood.
I wander if my food is that bad 😅. I don't know maybe just a fase I hope

The only thing DD won’t eat is soup.

Her favourite is anything with sausage, chicken curry and rice, chilli and rice, bolognese.
She’s not great with meat if not in a sauce, but will eat any sort of stew, casserole etc. it’s a bit trickier now it’s warmer weather as slow cooker things suited best.

riotlady · 11/06/2021 13:45

Chicken, gravy and broccoli, with no roast potatoes because she’s a fucking psychopath

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 11/06/2021 13:49

My 3 year old basically has a handful of dinners that she eats . Yes I do cook separate meals for an easier life .
Bolognese
Carbonara
Pesto pasta
Pasta with homemade veg sauce
Butter chicken
Quorn nuggets / rice / peas/ spaghetti hoops
Burgers with cucumber Confused

I stressed so much when my 8 year old became fussy as a toddler and now she eats everything so just going with the fussiness for the moment in the hope I only have another year of dinner rotations !

CoffeeDay · 11/06/2021 14:17

2.5 year old goes through phases where she just loves one thing for ages and then suddenly hates it. Just rolling with it and giving her whatever she likes within reason. At the moments meals are:

  • Chicken schnitzel (flattened chicken breast rolled in flour, egg and breadcrumbs/panko and deep fried)
  • Plain pasta with butter
  • Beef chilli with rice
  • Pizza, any kind. I tricked her into eating "pizza toast" which is admittedly disgusting but easy to make when pressed for time. Just a slice of toast spread with ketchup, some ham and any cheese I find in the fridge. Under the grill for a few minutes.
  • Lasagne
  • Broccoli. I think she just likes the shape of it which she can hold like an umbrella

Chicken, gravy and broccoli, with no roast potatoes because she’s a fucking psychopath

Hahaha same here! I thought mashed/roast/fried potatoes are obvious choices but she's detests them. Tiny psycho.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 11/06/2021 14:19

We feed ds whatever we're having, but if you ask him what he wants he always says porridge...

eatitgood · 11/06/2021 15:01

Macaroni cheese
Gnocchi
Carrots
Peanut butter on toast
Pasta of any sort
Bacon and eggs

BigMamaFratelli · 11/06/2021 15:05

Pasta of any description, but especially mac and cheese which I add chopped up hotdog sausage and broccoli to. Sometimes I put in mini meatballs instead, but the hotdog one is more popular!
