Embarrassing one - threadworms

Stupid question maybe, but I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone IRL. Is oral sex safe while you're treating threadworms?

No, it’s not. The eggs go in through the mouth and will just start the cycle again. Everyone in your household or who you have that sort of contact with should be taking treatment and minimising spreading it. It can become an awful cycle if you don’t sort it out as they just keep coming back.

The treatment only affects the adult worms, not the eggs or larvae. Thats why you have to treat twice, to catch the second lot of adults that just hatched out.
So anything that risks spreading eggs just isn't worth it as you'll keep re-infecting each other.

Absolutely not

Thanks for answering, that what I'd assumed. We're all treated and washing hands/clothes/bums frequently.
Normal sex is ok though right?

Google says eggs can live outside the body for 14 days.
