Centre parcs in December?

Has anyone done centre parcs for one of their Christmassy weeks? I’m thinking of taking my then 2.10 year old but wonder if there will be enough stuff to do for their age and if really it’ll just be miserable in a forest if it’s piddling down with the rain the whole time?

We went in December before covid. My kids were 3 and 2 and a baby then and we found plenty to do. We're (hopefully) going again in December this year. The kids will be 5, 4, 2 and 1. Even with restrictions, I'm sure we'll keep ourselves amused.

I went in January a few years ago, wouldn't go that time of year again. Actually, wouldn't go any time of year again, massively over priced. The forest was wet and miserable, mud everywhere and it wasn't nice to walk around in.

We always used to go in January. Was fab that time fo year.

Go to the dome three times a day.

There are indoor activities. Soft play.

It might NOT be raining so then you can go to the play parks and face walks in the forest.

Apparently it's magical with all the Christmas lights and reindeers etc.

We've booked to go this December with small children. I hope the recommendations are right! Or we'll be stuck in a forest grumpy and freezing our tits off.
Just think of all the memory making Grin

I imagine the lights are nice but I like to do lots of things outside at centre parcs and the weather in December doesn’t match that.

We usually go the first week in December ( adults only ) as we use it as a touring base . It works well for us because the place is generally full of pre schoolers so pre covid the restaurants and pool were really quiet in the evenings presumably because people were putting their children to bed . The Christmassy bits are very nice and most people seem to decorate their lodges - we don’t bother because we are barely in it .

We loved CP in winter, but the cheaper weeks, not Christmas. My favourite thing was the outside pool and rapids at Longleat at night.

I wouldn't choose to go back while the swimming is so restricted unless I could be sure to get my allocated slots in the dark!

Love it at Christmas. The displays, fireworks, Santa’s grotto for the kids. Mulled wine and mince pies in the forest and the rapids at night!

It depends on your Dd, my dd screamed her head off at Father Christmas, and was too shy for all the Christmassy groups I paid a small fortune for, my ds loved it at the same age though! Also it depends if the covid restrictions will still be around, only being able to book the pool twice for two hours would put a massive dampener on it, but obviously no one knows what will happen by December

Fiestyfish · 12/06/2021 08:57

A mixed bag! I think we will book and hope that the swimming restrictions have lifted a bit by then as that's the main pain I think

I love centreparks and would definitely go for Christmas if I could afford it. We go to Woburn.
