It's turkey meat, this... thing is in it. Is it part of a body part? It's black and honeycombed Confused I've never seen anything like it!

It looks like black tripe - from a cow’s stomach.

I think its intestines too.

Butchers daughter who used to have the pleasure of cleaning sheep's bellies ConfusedConfusedfor a Saturday job. Agree with the tripe/intestines theory.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 10/06/2021 20:14

Oh ugh, that's tripe alright. DH ate it in a restaurant once Envy

Sueaxlbrick · 10/06/2021 20:30

Could be the skin from the bottom part of the turkey's leg? You sometimes get this on a Christmas Turkey and it looks similar

TheNestedIf · 10/06/2021 20:39

Definitely tripe. I've eaten it frequently. When you see it at the butchers, it's often been bleached and that's why it's white, not black.

Sueaxlbrick · 10/06/2021 20:41

Like the darker skin in this picture

KindergartenKop · 10/06/2021 21:37

Tripe! I used to work in a pet shop!

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 11/06/2021 08:13

Do Turkeys have tripe?

@AintNobodyHereButUsChickens That one did Grin

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 11/06/2021 10:02

Maybe it killed and ate a cow.

butterry · 11/06/2021 10:06

I think it’s called green tripe, meant to be very nutritious for dogs. Must be part of the turkey blend?
