What have you all got for your 9 year olds for their birthday? Interests are superheroes, LOLs, dolls, Harry Potter. They love reading. Already have bike and scooter. Looking for a 'big' present around £50. They have no idea what they want! Help!

Mine prefers a ball and a bone Grin

Roller blades/skates
Karaoke machine
Lava lamp
Keyboard
Ice cream machine
Popcorn machine

whoami24601 · 10/06/2021 18:42

They already have roller boots and I don't think they'd get much use out of any of the other suggestions. The is for replying though! The only thing they've asked for is a snake but they are definitely NOT getting that!

Oh wait... a popcorn machine might not be a bad shout. We have weekly film nights so would definitely get used!

Gravitrax, Lego Harry Potter, my 9 year old enjoyed his Harry Potter 3D jigsaw.

Lipsandlashes · 10/06/2021 18:46

Clothes from H&M
Bubble tea set
Harry Potter Lego
Loads of books
Big set of art markers

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 18:56

I really want to help but mine wanted a hair dryer & a clip-on night light from us, got Lego dots jewellery box, books and a few more things I can't remember from family.
so not one big thing

I think she got a new scooter last year.
And we got her a karaoke machine for Christmas (it's broken since), can't remember price.

we had a popcorn machine...used it maybe a dozen times in 4 years, then it rotted in the shed until we chucked it.
so unless you are sure you're gonna use it don't bother.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 19:00

Amazon tablet?
Lego? there's a lot of superhero Lego about

whoami24601 · 10/06/2021 19:12

Lego good idea. We do lots of Lego though. I am pretty sure we'll use a popcorn machine (and I have to be as we have a teeny tiny kitchen so can't be having extra junk in there!)

Got a kindle fire (they'd love an iPad but am trying to hold off on anything like that for at least another year or two!)

popcorn machine sounds perfect then!

Dd is 9 in 3 weeks. She's mainly asked for money to go on a shopping spree! I have bought her some clothes, Dork Diaries set of books, a couple of other books, a plug in wax melt thingy that lights up, then doing her a little hamper of bath/bedtime bits, so smellies from the body shop, mug & hot chocolate, lush bath bombs, fluffy socks, face mask etc. She hasn't actually asked for any toys, just money and books! Going to get her a daybed for her room and give her room a little make over as well.

whoami24601 · 11/06/2021 09:11

Ooh we love a bath bomb so will throw some in!

Pogo stick?

badlydrawnbear · 11/06/2021 09:49

DD was 9 last year. She got an iPod so she could listen to music, but she mostly uses it to watch YouTube videos, a SmartSketcher, Lego (probably Harry Potter Lego), a big pile of books, a Nintendo switch game.

DDiva · 11/06/2021 10:00

My Dd is 8 next week, a new tablet is her main present but is also getting from family.

Basketball and net
Slushy maker
Tie dye kit

Ilovemaisie · 11/06/2021 10:21

There are some new Harry Potter Lego sets that have just been released. There is a lovely one of a bright bird (don't know the character - gave up on Harry Potter on book 4).

FurrySlipperBoots · 11/06/2021 10:25

A pogo stick? I loved mine at that age!! Or roller blades maybe?

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 11/06/2021 10:27

Mine was 8 in Feb and barely plays with toys anymore. She got an Alexa for her room, clothes, huge box of crap I mean stationery from Smiggle. Books

FurrySlipperBoots · 11/06/2021 10:27

How about a remote control snake?
