Anybody used Vinted? How should I sell clothes?

Hi, due to various medical issues I've gone down 2 dress sizes since February.
Last year during lockdown I went a bit mad buying clothes online and now have a stack of brand new clothes that I don't think I will wear in the near future, most with labels still on as we never went anywhere last year! I want to get rid and was thinking about Vinted but not sure how good/effective it is and what anyone would suggest otherwise.

I’ve used it and it’s really simple. Much better than using ebay

@PreviewButton
Can I ask were you buying or selling?

Sorry, I’ve done both. I’m into a bit of a routine now. Gradually putting more and more on to sell - and when I do sell something I buy something new! I’ve also replaced a couple of dresses that I love but are getting a bit tatty. Managed to find the exact dresses on Vinted

Is it me or does stuff pop up on vinted really randomly?

So, is it only people who have bumped or is it in new stuff first order?

It's much easier to upload stuff than ebay. But I can't understand how the searching works.

I love Vinted, it's really easy to use. I sell baby clothes on there and buy bits for myself too.

My number one tip is to price realistically. Buyers won't pay £70 for a secondhand dress that cost £80 but many new sellers seem to think they will which makes me laugh.

I'll occasionally put something on eBay if I know it's really sought after, as it'll attract a bidding war. People on Vinted want a bargain so you have to price to reflect that.

Ive used Vinted. Its good. Prefer it to Ebay but thats because I cba with the timed adverts, the bidding etc. I just want to buy something.

A tip would be to size things correctly. I get that garmets state they're a size 12 for example, but it'd be really helpful if sellers would write if its a big/small size 12 because sizes are different depending on the brand.

I buy off vinted and its fantastic, only had one bad experience when the dress was advertised as a 10 but arrived a size 16, they wouldnt cover the cost of my return delivery so I just gave it to charity, it was only a few pounds. Generally people are very decent on there. Definitely price correctly to sell especially if you just want rid and be prepared to haggle.

Does anyone know what the point of 'favouriting' something is? Is it akin to adding something to your eBay 'watch list'?

MrsRobbieHart · 07/10/2021 10:45

What are Vinted fees like? How do they work? Do Vinted hold onto the money until the buyer receives the item like eBay now do?

BubblesThaDragoon · 07/10/2021 10:56

I much prefer Vinted to eBay - fees are cheaper and all I do is put a higher price than I actually expect to get for it - people can then make you an offer and you choose whether to accept or not.
