Fuck off Spotify

I never listen to Spotify but have it on my phone as sometimes the kids like to play dj in the car. One of the reasons I actively avoid it is that it insists on turning itself on whenever I connect my headphones. I am perfectly capable of selecting to the audio app of my choice but the arsehole settings on Spotify over ride me regularly. I thought I'd turned everything off so it won't inflict rocket league related noise at me but apparently I've missed one. Any suggestions where they've hidden something new and different before I just delete the bloody thing altogether?

I hate Spotify because like Twitter, I can't fucking work it!

I have an ipad, the settings get madder and madder all the time.

It does stop automatically when I remove earphones.

Spotify is the work of the devil. Amazon music is much better

I had that - it was a problem with my headphones. Double-check with another set of headphones to see.

I have spotify on my phone and lap top - it never switches on when I plug in headphones..... I actively have to open it.

Happens in the car too, so not just my ear phones. The app is closed and I've wiped it from my recent app list. I'll do a settings trawl when I'm less angry and inclined to throw my phone at the wall in frustration.

We have a family account for Spotify as dh and the kids use it. I rarely listen to music so no need for another amazon account to confuse me.

As soon as DH turns the car on, it Immediately launches Spotify. Neither of us know how to turn it off

Go into settings and force stop (or equivalent).

After that, it won't start or connect again until you actively open the app.

In spotify settings, there's an 'autoplay' option. You can switch it off. That might help.

I have spotify but have never had this problem, out of interest I googled the issue and the first page of results was literally all your same question in slightly different ways.
