Would like to be an archivist however I am really struggling to get into this area at the moment and currently cannot afford to do a postgraduate qualification. I’m continuing to apply for jobs in archives/libraries/ museums however I am struggling to find a full time, permanent job that also pays a salary I can live off. Does anyone know of any similar industries that I may enjoy working in if I enjoy working in an archive/ heritage setting? I do also enjoy working with children but have done some shadowing in a school and I don’t think teaching is for me. (Same with administration as I have worked in this for a year) any thoughts would be appreciated

There may be more opportunities in university or hospital libraries. The pay isn’t too bad either. It could be a good stopgap until you find a more ‘perfect’ role.

Book conservation. Would probably require postgrad study though.
