Egg-free and dairy-free carrot cake recipe - any recommendations?

I am hosting a birthday party for DS and one of his friends have severe milk and egg allergies. I have chatted to his mum and don't want the friend to feel left out, so I would like to make a cake that he can eat. DS wants carrot cake, but my go-to recipe has eggs in it. I would really appreciate any recommendations for a good recipe!

My ancient copy of Grub on a Grant has an egg-free carrot loaf recipe. The butter can easily be replaced by Pure (or equivalent), and I have successfully made it with oil as well:

8oz/200g flour
1tsp/5ml ginger
1tsp/5ml nutmeg
1tsp/5ml baking powder
8oz/200g grated carrot (parsnip and beetroot work too)
4oz/100g 'butter'
4oz/100g (3tbsp) honey or golden syrup
4oz/100g brown sugar

Grease a 1lb loaf tin. Pre-heat oven to 170C/325F/gas 3. Mix flour, spices, baking powder and carrot together. Melt fat, honey and sugar together in a pan. Stir into carrot mixture and mix well. Press into loaf tin and cook for 1-1.5 hours - or 45 min if you want fairy cakes.
