Elective c section - pre op

Just a quick question - will I get a covid PCR test as part of my pre op appointment before a c section? Just paranoid about getting covid before I go in, I’ve had one vaccination but I don’t think one is that effective against catching covid it would seem. Thanks

@Lavinia321 I had my pre op for my c section yesterday as my section is today Grin I had to have a covid test as part of it.

Thanks, good luck today!! Do you remember if they did a PCR test or just a lateral flow one?

All the best on welcoming your LO today @lil226 Flowers !

I'm sure you can request a test if its not offered OP, best wishes to you too!

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon, I have mine due in early August, do the hospital do the test or can we go through a drive through testing unit?

Also, so they test DH too? Not been told what the rules are about him coming with me as yet. Fingers crossed he can

I had an ELCS in October. Had a covid test in the hospital at my pre op appointment, and if it had been positive we would have just had a separate area. DH didn’t have one.
