I’ve got a lump and can’t stop panicking

Felt a lump about an inch below my belly button over the weekend. Was rubbing my stomach and found it. Managed to get a docs appointment yesterday and I’ve been referred to local hospital for an ultrasound as doc not sure it’s a hernia. Blood tests next week. I’ve not lost any weight, got an upset tummy or noticed any blood in stools, if anything I’m a bit constipated. Trying not to google anything but, jeeze, my mind cannot stop racing. Sad

Sorry you're going through this. Honestly there's loads of benign things it could be. A woman at work had something like and it turned out to be a little fatty cyst that was completely harmless.

Try not to panic - easier said than done, I know. I've also had a fatty lump confirmed on ultrasound - had planned my funeral in the wait.

I had that, in similar place. Turned out it was a cyst. It did become infected and they did remove it. It was all very straight forward and pretty painless. Try not to worry.

Thanks everyone for your reassurance - trying to keep busy so I don’t dwell. I’m keeping everything crossed it’s just a cyst, just praying I don’t have to wait too long for a scan date as my nerves won’t take it.
