Does a hot day elevate your temperature? New thermometer confusion!

DH Ordered a new fancy in ear thermometer today. Because of this heโ€™s been taking temps all day ๐Ÿ™ˆ
DC is absolutely fine. Feels a normal temp, maybe slightly warm when he came him from playing in the garden (itโ€™s a hot day) but when DH checked his temp it was 37.8!

I now think this means we have to get a test and isolate but DH runs warm - normal temp for him is 37.5 and because heโ€™s been taking DC temp all day ( he keeps demanding it and thinks itโ€™s a game) itโ€™s fluctuated throughout from 37.4 to 37.8 and we havenโ€™t given him any medicine or anything

Heโ€™s not flushed at all, perfectly happy and eating and playing etcโ€ฆ but we still need to isolate, right?

DH thinks Iโ€™m being OTT

The thermometer gave normal readings for us by the way. DH is 37.5 and Iโ€™m 36.8 so i donโ€™t think itโ€™s the thermometer

Our old thermometer is giving the same readings for me and DH as the ear one but making DS to be lower at 36.8 (itโ€™s a forehead one)

The only thing I can think of is he has teeth coming through (heโ€™s 17 months) but I still think we need to follow the guidance
