I've just come to end of this years studying, completed my exam, and I want to do something nice for myself Grin

I don't want to spend a fortune and I have absolutely no idea what I want/want to do.

What would you do?

A trashy book.

Teessider · 08/06/2021 15:33

What do you like and what do you consider a fortune? Once we know that we can give you some ideas

As to what I do to treat myself ... well, this week I've bought a new dyson hoover, loads of new clothes, some hotel chocolat chocolates, and god knows what else

LubaLuca · 08/06/2021 15:36

I'd go out for a day on my own. A walk, a cold half of something and a bar meal in a pub and a book to keep me company.

A night away in a hotel in a different city. Wander round the shops, museums, etc. Then get some food and a bottle of something to have in the hotel room, chill out, telly, read a book, pamper in the bath.

Ooh yes a trashy book! Think I'll have a trip to Waterstones!

I'm pretty much up for anything, I don't love crowds though! A fortune as in hundreds (I haven't done THAT well Grin)

Love the ideas of going off on my own, either to the pub or hotel, especially as I have younger children. Some me time is exactly what I need.

Thanks all!

If you have travelzoo you book something great value anywhere you can get to and just have time down time to relax and enjoy your new book.

Night in a hotel, room service, alcohol and a good book

gooseygoosey12345 · 09/06/2021 08:21

I'll take a look at travelzoo, thanks!
A hotel seems like the winning idea Grin

Well done Op. Smile

As you have young children, I'd be tempted to go on a spa day.

BarbaraofSeville · 09/06/2021 08:39

One thing I want to do when I get round to it is to rent a beach hut for the day. If you go midweek outside the school holidays they only cost £15/20 at the nearest coast to where I am.

I'll sit outside my beach hut, watch the sea, read, drink tea, watch the world go by, go for a wander, get fish and chips to eat sat in front of my beach hut.

SmellThis · 09/06/2021 09:42

Well done you you, that's a big achievement
What do you like to read?

gooseygoosey12345 · 12/06/2021 20:21

Sorry it's taken me so long to come back, having phone issues!
Beach hut sounds amazing! I'm not near the coast but I'd travel for that!
I've just bought myself a book about an anti-social behaviour officer Grin

Thanks all.
