Does it sound like my male colleague likes me?

We are both in our mid-20s and have worked together for around 5 months. We have different roles and as part of his role he attends more meetings with my manager than me and he is always bringing me up to them. For example, my workload got hectic a few weeks ago due to some issues within the department and he brought it up to my manager to ensure the workload was redistributed more evenly so I didn't have to keep staying late. It really wasn't a big deal (hence why I didn't raise it with my manager myself) and I told him I didn't mind.

I also train new colleagues and I was training someone last week and he came up to us both and said they are in capable hands as I'm great at training and great to learn from. I'm pretty sure he then fed his feedback to my manager as my manager called me into a meeting and said how it had been noticed that I have been good at training new colleagues and raising their confidence.

If I'm ever in the break room when he is in there I will sit down and without saying a word he will come over and bring me a snack (our managers tend to bring in cakes, cookies, biscuits on Fridays for us).

I can't tell if he's just being nice or whether he may like me.

Do you want him to? Or is it unwelcome?

MournfulTromboneNoise · 08/06/2021 15:43

Sounds like he's a team player.

There was a thread almost exact the same as this a couple of days ago.

It's not unwelcome or anything, I am just curious

Hmm not sure. He might do but then again maybe you've just impressed him with how much of a good worker you are. Is he senior to you or just a colleague?

Bookridden · 08/06/2021 20:23

Do you like him? What do you want to happen?

summerdaiisy · 08/06/2021 21:49

He used to be just a colleague but now he is slightly more senior but in a different department. That's what he is able to raise things with my managers easily as he has more meetings with them.

There's not much to go on there tbh.

Hard to say as everything you’ve said is about your work performance so he could just think you’re a good colleague.
