Help please I have injured my plant

I have a schefflera arboricola which I left in sunlight for a few days last week. It’s looking rather unwell. There are approx 7 stems with okay/healthy looking leaves on and about 10 stems with brown crispy leaves on.

I read online that you shouldn’t cut more than 20% off at once. I have thoroughly watered it on my return and it is stood in about an inch of water for the last 24 hours.

Any advice on reviving it would be appreciated.

You might need this in the gardening section OP - some real experts there!
Sorry I can't help but good luck.

I'd take it out of the water... it's had a good drink and it won't like sitting in it now.

Cut off the brown leaves, put it somewhere out of the sun and keep your fingers crossed.

I think I'd treat it to some baby bio too.

Good luck

In my (very limited) experience (I got into houseplants over lockdown) they're moody ungrateful bastards and they'll sulk at the least provocation. Give it a stern talking to.

It looks so sad. It rustles when I move it! I have removed the water and moved it out of direct sun light.

I gave it a miracle grow treat this morning.

It was looking marvellous before I left it. Even my daughters sad about it.

Don’t leave it sat in water, you’ll rot the roots. Don’t water again until the soil is almost dried out.

Cut off the dead/brown leaves, you don’t want it to waste any energy on trying to resurrect them.

Move to a medium light area without direct sun and let it rest there now.

Thanks. I have chopped off a few dead stems and some individual leaves on living stems.
Removed the water it’s sat in. Moved its position into a warm room out of sunlight.

I gave it miracle grow this morning. My friend watered it on Thursday and said it had a single dead leaf so it’s gone downhill quickly. It was hot on Saturday though.
