Holiday book recommendations please!

I was supposed to be flying to Portugal tomorrow for a week in the sun. As that’s now out the window I’ve booked myself (and only myself) into a spa hotel for a few days. I am planning on doing absolutely nothing other than boiling myself, reading and eating.

Having had a look through my bookcase there’s nothing I can find that I particularly want to read though - it’s all either too trashy, demands too much concentration or I’ve already read it.

I’ve been looking for something like Hamnet, Circe or The Night Circus - all books that are really well written but don’t demand too much focus (I’m still scarred from ploughing through The Mirror and the Light for 800 odd pages).

Any recommendations?

It might be too trashy for you, but I loved Sophie Kinsella’s new book called Love Your Life

My normal go to holiday read is Eat Pray Love.

I’ve enjoyed the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley, the last one has just been released.

Giver of Stars Jo Jo Moyes. All my book club loved it which is extremely rare!

I’ve never tried Sophie Kinsella but I’ll give it a go, thanks.

I’m Eat Pray Love is one of the few books that I couldn’t ever finished. It just seemed so bloody self absorbed but there’s a very good chance it was just me being incredibly cynical. I’ve not heard of the Seven Sisters series though, I’ll look it up now. Thanks also.
