Quick thoughts, which bed frame is better?

I can't decide.

Oh, and if its of any consideration, I don't tuck the quilt down into the bed end.

First one. I would forever knocking myself on the pointy ends of the bedstead on the second one and really dislike bed-ends anyway as you can't dangle your feet out when required!

Aesthetically I prefer the plain one.

Plain one will be easier to tuck sheets in and long quilts and covers will hang better.

Plain one. Looks more 'timeless'.

I was leaning towards the plain as well but the criss cross is quite a novel.
Yes DH is a magnet for bashing himself on sticky outy hard things. Like this guy..

You can always add a 'novel' quilt cover, coloured sash or cushions if you want something different. I hate bed ends and my 6ft2 DH wouldn't be able to stretch out completely without pushing into it at night.

First one but as long as you have enough space to move around it without bashing your knees. I have similar and don't really have enough space and it bloody hurts when you bash into it.

Definitely the first one, the plainer one.

The other one will be really uncomfortable if you sit up in bed reading. And it will just gather dust in all the criss-cross cutout bits.
