Hello,

My back upper tooth has been aching the last two days horribly. I had a root canal in it around 18 months ago with a crown over the top which went fine and has been fine since.

However I also have a stinking cold and horrible painful sinuses (around my eyes it hurts if i apply even the slightest pressure). Has anyone had this? Do I see a dentist or see if it carries on after my cold has gone? So uncomfortable and in pain feleing v sorry for myself!

Yes I always always always get sore teeth when I have sinusitis, it’s something to do with the pressure I think. Fingers crossed it’ll settle once you feel better.

Dentist here. Yes this is quite common. The roots of the upper molars are very close to the sinuses. Many people with a bad cold get achy teeth.

Thanks both. Thats reassuring @chilliplant634 from a dentist I was panicking I'd need the root canal opening up but hoping it'll just settle in a few days.

Thanks :)
