WWYD - dental issue

Part of my tooth has cracked off and my filling come out, leaving half a tooth above gum level. The filling has come out twice in recent years (six) and had to be refilled. It's a back tooth which DH reckons he can't see when I'm talking. I have a crown next to it and always said I wouldn't have another, as I still get phases of discomfort.

Assuming I have a choice, WWYD:

  1. Filling
  2. Tooth removed
  3. Risk having a crown

Go and speak to your dentist. I have a tooth that has had a temporary filling and I am deciding between a crown or a factory made filling (it has a name which I cannot recall) I like both the crowns I have so am veering towards that. Your crown shouldn't be causing discomfort.

Thanks. I've raised the fact my crown causes discomfort with current and two previous dentists in practice - never got anywhere with that one! I've just made an appointment for later.
