Anyone live near Buxton/ Blackwell in the peak

Staying in Blackwell in the Peak in August and really looking forward to it but actually want it to be a break ... and not self catering with me doing all the work

Could people advise me of nice pubs to book nearby (a drive is fine) and on monsal trail as well as some fab type of delis where we can just buy stuff and shove in the oven.

For pubs, I’d say The Royal Oak, The Packhorse and Angler’s Rest

If you come into Buxton at all, The Cheshire Cheese has great food and lovely beer. I am jealous!

Nice delis / cafes in Bakewell. Big Aldi and Coops there too.
Second the Royal Oak, Packhorse and Anglers Rest. Also the Bridge Inn at Calver/Curbar is lovely. The Barrell at Brettn for views and a drink (not sure what the food is like) and the Lion at Litton is lovely (although don’t allow children because of open fires but there are outside tables which look into the village which is very pretty if you have DC)
