Small useful gifts for 2 year old?

GAW19 · 06/06/2021 11:57

My little girl will be 2 in just under 3 weeks, we're going away for our birthday to my DGP's caravan.
Need gift ideas on small items to fit in the car to take with us?
So far we have a big box of crayons, colouring book, 2 boxes of puzzles, different flip cards and a dinosaur teddy.
We have a few dolls house bits for when she gets home but was thinking of taking bits that she can use whilst away for 2 weeks Smile
Any ideas?

Grown up cutlery set/s if she doesn't already have some.

Sand toys if near the beach, ball - maybe an inflatable one.

Clothing/PJs (character?) swim/UV suit?

Crayola bath paints and colour tabs don't have to use them in the bath, the paints are great for letting them loose with in the shower and tabs are great in a tub of water for outdoor play

Scuttle bug

Middleofthenight2 · 06/06/2021 12:18

Things for the beach if its nearby? Some small outdoor toys?

MaMaD1990 · 06/06/2021 12:26

A little pram and baby - the prams close up and don't take up much space. My little girl loves just talking her baby for a walk in it around the garden, very cute to watch.

Those magic water paint books with a pen.

Thank you for all the ideas! Reminded me we got her bubbles too haha
She already has a scuttle bug but a scooter is a great idea!
Think I might get her a new little backpack too to carry her things around

Hair band/clips (will depend on hair length/style) or brush, purse with a few pounds in to spend (adult supervision gift obviously), bubbles, beach toys, ball.

BertieBotts · 06/06/2021 15:02

The Little Life backpacks are great because you can attach a parent strap to them so they work as reins in busy environments. 90% of the time DS2 just uses his as a backpack but it's good to have the reins option!

MisgenderedSwan · 06/06/2021 15:26

A couple of new story books for bedtime?

A flashlight as maybe she will be awake a little later and it's fun to shine.

Nice sun hat

Sweetener12 · 07/06/2021 10:03

Maybe a smaller dollhouse or a bunch of outdoor play items. You can also get party hats for everyone and take lots of pictures as if it's a Birthday party, and then either print them out or make a photo book or a birthday collage or a Smartshow 3d video to look at later. My parents always took their time to take pictures of me when I was young and I'm so excited to look through these old photo albums now, leave alone several vids that we have!

My family are coming to visit on her birthday so will make little party bags for her and my niece. Oh I pride myself in taking pictures of both my girls! She has a memory box but Its just a gift box so 'm going out today to buy her a wooden box and make her a proper little memory box myself Smile
