Films you have never watched?

Obviously står wars is the biggy, but are there films that you never watched which you try to? I have never watched a James bond. I'm trying to watch the matrix, but it's very dull.

Dirty Dancing. It didn't appeal to me when it first came out. Years later it was on the TV so I started watching it and within 15 minutes I gave up.because it was so bad.

Same with Mama Mia. Someone left me the DVD, started watching it and within 10 minutes all I could think was "Meryl, how could you do this?" Grin. I switched it off and didn't see the rest.

Motnight · 06/06/2021 04:38

I haven't seen any of the Star Wars films.

avamiah · 06/06/2021 04:42

@Motnight

I haven't seen any of the Star Wars films.
I have to say I haven’t either only parts from different films .
musthavebeenlove · 06/06/2021 04:51

Dirty Dancing
James Bond movies
StarWars
Titanic

Cocogreen · 06/06/2021 04:51

Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia, Titanic, ET, any Rocky movies.
I have seen a lot of Star Wars movies though.

Serpenta · 06/06/2021 05:00

At this point there have been so many blockbuster films that it's totally normal to have missed one or two along the way.

It doesn't make it an exciting personality trait though.

I know someone who's endlessly entertained by telling people he's never seen Grease. I mean, Grease is a boring film but his 'never seen Grease' boast is way more boring.

Duckypoohs · 06/06/2021 05:32

I must admit I like grease and dirty dancing, I watched hairspray as an adult and found that I knew every line lol I must have watched it a lot as a tween.

It's not a personality trait or a virtue never having seen certain films. It is a downside though when the majority of people love them. I still can't pay attention to the matrix grr.

I haven't seen any of these, no, I have seen Hairspray and am fond of it but I generally don't fancy blockbusters from what I've seen of their trailers. James Bond, Star Wars, rom-coms, films about giant monkeys, fish or lizards, disaster films YAWN. Not fond of Hollywood output generally.

Contactlesslenses · 06/06/2021 06:30

James Bond
Harry Potter
Star Wars or Trek
Lord of the rings
The hobbit
The matrix
Back to the future..

I’m just don’t have the patience for films l any programme over an hour long I find tedious, so will only watch one if I can pretty much guarantee I will enjoy it... I won’t watch something on the off chance it will be good and if a film hasn’t caught my interest within the first 20 mins or so I switch off..

Onlinedilema · 06/06/2021 06:37

Rocky
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings ( tried but fell asleep)
The hobbitt
Oceans 11
Batman
Ghost Busters
Close encounters of the third kind
The Simpsons
La La land ( tried but found it boring)

I could go on and on. A film has to be amazing to keep my interest.

KatherineJaneway · 06/06/2021 06:39

The Lion King

Cowbells · 06/06/2021 06:39

Star Wars
Mamma Mia
Frozen

FindingMeno · 06/06/2021 06:41

Oh loads and loads.
I'm very picky when it comes to films or TV.

BasiliskStare · 06/06/2021 06:44

Shock never to have seen a James Bond film ever . some of them are quite funny. I took my son once to see a Star Wars film so I cannot claim the cliche but not sure I would watch another. Tried the Matrix once and - yep - gave up . Gave up on the Harry Potter ones - even on the TV. Mamma Mia - not sure I could be bothered to reach for the remote control. Have watched Saturday Night Fever - once as a 15 year old and then 40 years later with my son ( TV) gosh it is not quite how remembered it.

Some of those "mean Girls" type films , or the one with the lawyer girl & the dog which make some people I know hoot with laughter , just leave me cold - but fair play they are popular.

Give me Apollo 13 any day of the work Grin

BasiliskStare · 06/06/2021 06:45

ffs - week not work Grin

joystir59 · 06/06/2021 06:58

Kill Bill

wheresthehope · 06/06/2021 07:04

Harry Potter is it for me . And I only seen 1 lord of the rings movie. Wasn’t for me

Snorkelface · 06/06/2021 07:09

LIttle Mermaid
Lion King
Lala Land
Lord of the Rings

I appear not to like the letter 'L'.

Sparklingbrook · 06/06/2021 07:36

I have seen very few films all the way through.
I have seen the start of loads and completely lost interest in them and switched off.
I do find films disappointing quite often, people have raved to me but they left me cold.
I have read any HP books or watched any of the films (although have been in the same room as the DCs while they have)

MrsDThomas · 06/06/2021 07:51

50 shades. Absolutely zero interest

Raffles1981 · 06/06/2021 07:58

50 shades. The book was dire and I can't believe I wasted time trying to read it.
Lord of the rings. Just nope.
Mamma Mia. Hate, hate, hate ABBA with a passion.

ShowOfHands · 06/06/2021 07:58

I would imagine most people haven't seen the 50 shades films? I don't know anybody who has watched them I don't think. They're not supposed to be good are they?

There are hundreds of popular films I haven't seen, simply because I don't watch TV much at all and haven't been to the cinema to see a non children's film for 15 years. I suppose the only thing people find remotely of note is the face I've seen v few Disney or animated films. Never watched Bambi or Aladdin for example.

jakalaka · 06/06/2021 08:00

The Godfather, Jurassic Park, Rocky

Most Disney movies.

ForkedIt · 06/06/2021 08:04

I was going to say Star Wars and James Bond too! Grin
I zone out in any kind of action / fight scene so most things in that genre have probably passed me by - I have seen a lot of the marvel films but tend to get lost on the plot as the fighting starts and I glaze over then come to in about 10 minutes.

sandgrown · 06/06/2021 08:04

I judge a film by whether I manage to stay awake . I slept through Lord of the Rings , The Sting and one of the Godfather films plus various films aimed at older children!
