Can anyone recommend a good cleanser for a 12 year old boy who’s starting to get whitehead spots?

He’s mortified that he’s had a couple of spots lately and now seems to have 3 or 4 more appearing.

I used to use clearasil but wondering if it’s a bit too harsh? Is simple any good? I’ve told him to dab toothpaste on them at night but he doesn’t like to do that!

I also don't think teens need moisturiser. Just sun protection.
Everyone needs moisturizer!! If you're spotty you need a water based one rather than an oil based

I do agree about moisturiser but the reason my son didn't use one is because, despite a few pimples, his skin is so normal I didn't want to imbalance it any further. Carbon theory soap has shea butter in it; I really can't recommend it enough as a gentle acne treatment.

Definitely La Roche Possay Effaclar face wash- they also do moisturiser if you want to extend his products. LRP ranges are great for sensitive skin and the effaclar range is for spot prone skin. It's the only thing that doesn't dry my daughters skin out. She has sensitive skin so a lot of the ranges aimed at teens are too harsh or products like simple etc just don't work on spots

Acnecide facial wash has worked wonders for dd. She’s gone from visible acne across her forehead and chin to slightly red bumpy skin in places where the spots were worst, clear elsewhere, in less than 2 weeks.
