Any female golfers?

Golf seems to be hated on MN but I’m really thinking about taking a few lessons. Thinking the slow exercise, walking and being out in fresh air will be good for mental health.

Has anyone found this?

Go for it! Sport brings great joy and golf, from an outside point of view, offers great socialisation and an opportunity to practice and home skills.

Be kind to your joints though. My uncle is a golfer and his hips and knees have paid the price.

Love it. I play entirely non competitive golf with someone I met through lessons five years ago. We play for both physical and mental health. Managed to get hold of some clubs from a relative who was buying new ones and learned to play in cheaper group lessons. This has the advantage of meaning you will meet people to play with as well as saving money. Just make sure that you learn at or join the right club for you. Look for one that welcomes beginners. Good luck.
