Home emergency insurance.
I’m thinking about nationwide but can’t find many reviews.

If you have used.... how were they in a crisis?

Many thanks

I can’t comment on emergency insurance, but I have home and contents insurance with Nationwide. It was sold to me as new for old; an example would be that if part of a three piece bathroom suite was damaged, the whole suite would be replaced.

About six weeks ago, I got soot on the living room carpet, which is less than three. years old. I contacted them and they put me in touch with a company that assesses whether it can be cleaned or replaced. The appointment was cancelled because the chap was ill. Two weeks later, he came, took one look and said it would have to be replaced. Took lots of notes and information on his iPad and two days later, we had a call from them. The assessor had lost all the information. I contacted Nationwide who said it was no longer anything to do with them because it had been passed to the third party company.

We are no further forward and I wonder what I am paying monthly premiums for. Suffice to say, when it comes up for renewal, I’ll be looking around and I don’t want a company that uses shite assessors.

I have home Insurance and on account of a shiner job they did in handling my claim- that’s why I’m considering this add on.

But thanks anyway
