Not Southbank I’ve done it too many times. Starting point will be Kings Cross or there abouts. Must have given I’d snacks along the way and maybe abit of shopping?

Download the Go Jauntly app which has loads of walks on it. There's one from Kings cross to Greenwich - massive walk though, don't know if that's what you're looking for!! But there will be loads of good walks round London City and the canals etc.

Kings cross is not far from the regent canal, you could follow that via camden (shopping) onto Regent's park.

Catch Northern Line to Chalk Farm. Choose an Icecream from Marine Ices. Walk down towards London Zoo and through Regents Park. Small chance of catching a lunchtime performance at the Open Air Theatre then walk out of south east corner and across Euston Road- the Green Man pub would do for a quick stop. Then your aim is to get to Exmouth Market, maybe Berber Q or Moro. When we’ve done this walk we went via Bloomsbury, Russell Square (check out exhibitions at Brunei Gallery, SOAS or British Museum) and then you can grab another snack at the Brunswick Centre. It’s about another 20 minutes to Exmouth Market. You can walk past Corams Fields or in if you have kids. Duck down side streets if you end up on a busy road. Once you’ve eaten at Exmouth Market (or just had a game of table football at Cafe Kick) then you can walk back up to Kings Cross St Pancras or walk onto Old Street and eat/drink there. Or, if you can catch a late train home then consider Ironmonger Row Baths revamped traditional Turkish baths. Old street is on the northern line of you can catch a bus back to Kings Cross.
Have a brilliant trip

What if from granary square you follow the canal away from Camden what’s that route like?

Never done it, but you can follow the canal to Mile End - it's about 7km

@EachandEveryone , I've walked that route. Due to the Islington tunnel, you have to make your way at street level towards the Angel, which will offer shopping etc.

You could walk from Granary Square to Limehouse via Victoria Park - all along the canal (apart from the bit in Angel that you need to go above ground for). Or leave the canal at Victoria Park and walk to Columbia Road finishing at Spitalfields (for shopping).
