Does anyone know the North Wales coast, particularly Talacre?

We live an hour and a half away from Talacre beach (coming from the direction of Chester) . We go there to walk our dog so we don't need the cafe/shop etc just the large stretch of sand when the tides out. I'm wondering if there's somewhere closer we can park to access the coast, even if it shaves just 10 mins off the time. We seem to drive past a lot of beach before we get to the car park at Talacre. Does anyone local know? With an excited dog in the boot we never really have the time to explore. Many thanks.

Strange way to look at it, but if you’re coming from England/Midlands, is Thurstaston beach closer? You can look across the sea and see Talacre way from there Grin

To the east of the Talacre power plant is a coastal path, and then it slowly becomes an estuary.

Go to Flint, throught the industrial estate to get to the coastal path - www.discoveringbritain.org/activities/wales/walks/flint.html
