Anyone got a caravan??

We are just camping at the mo in Dorset. We've had wonderful weather, love the campsite, days out etc. But got to say I just really do not like the sleeping arrangements!!

I hate that it gets so hot in a morning that the kids are up at 6am even if they are knackered, and the fact I don't have a proper mattress, sink, toilet or any proper cooking facilities!!

So next plan is to buy a caravan! It's not really very 'cool' though is it but I think would actually lead to some nice family holidays with minimal suffering?

We are having a holiday in one now. Borrowed from a friend. It’s a tourer not a static. I would love a caravan. My kids have had so much fun with other kids on the site; and I am enjoying a nice bed to sleep on, and a fully serviced pitch so the water is directly supplied. Get one! Plenty of cool people here, and I don’t include myself in that!

Thanks @BluePeterVag, how have you found it? We would be getting a tourer. We would hate going to the same place all the time plus have a Land Rover anyway so seems the best choice.

How have you found it? Has it been quite comfortable and civilised? I hate waking up in the morning needing a wee and to brush my teeth but having to expose myself to the outside world before I do so!!

Love the camp sites for the kids they have made so many friends.

It’s been great. We are in a Bailey Ranger 510/4 so sleeps 4, has an end bathroom which has a lovely shower. I wouldn’t want one that has a small bathroom with the shower over the toilet.
Really thinking about buying one ourselves. The beds made up from the seating area are comfy.
Talking to people on the site; there are a lot who have bought a caravan for the first time last or this year and are loving it. Plenty of places to go to and you have some home comforts too.
This one has an awning; and we have put up camp beds, my teenager is sleeping in there.

Sounds fantastic. Quite excited! Who needs to get on an airplane hey!
