What do teen boys 16/17 wear to their prom?

Sorry not sure where to post this and hoping for a bit of traffic.

With the last year being so all over the place, DS is now invited to their prom. What do boys wear? He has absolutely no idea himself and isn’t interested in fashion but I don’t want him to go to the event and feel under/over dressed.

When DD’s time comes I know that she will know exactly what she wants. Help please!

Usually they'd wear a suit? I've seen friends sons dressed in a variety of outfits - traditional suits, tuxedo, novelty suit, kilt!

Could he ask friends what they are planning?

Mine had a suit from Next, they have good sizes for that awkward stage of tall skinny/short tubby that many boys hit at that age and the prices are reasonable.

Most of the lads wore suits, some more fancy than others with cufflinks etc. But mine just had a suit and nice tie.

Goodness. Here it's all been cancelled.
In Scotland most wears kilts

Thanks all! I’ve just msgd someone I know who is also a High School teacher and she said - a suit. At least that will solve the problem of what he wears to my niece’s wedding this Autumn!

Ds got a jacket and trousers for £99 and a shirt /tie set for £20 from H&M.

Burton’s suits come in loads of sizes and colors and aren’t expensive.

Both ds’s picked black suits as being the most versatile. Don’t think it matters as long as he feels comfy.
