Purflo baby nest question

Wondering if anyone who has used one can advise. Is the hard plastic bit supposed to stay in the base..? Seems awfully hard and likely to be uncomfortable? Thanks!

No remove it. It's like a netty breathable base. My daughter loved it.

Thank you! So the base is literally just that thin material layer, and you put it on top of normal cot mattress...?

I used it all over the house. Sofa during the day, bathroom when I showered, on the bed when we watched tv. Really handy.
