Hi.. as per heading im a secondary IT/Computer Science teacher looking at retraining to do something else? I like my job but there isn't much in terms of career progression and I find it pretty dull and boring .. I'm 7 years in now and just find every year/week so repetative. I was just wondering if anyone has retrained and what you do & your wage?

Web development.

High salary, high demand. Lots of creativity and problem solving, really stimulating, nice people.

Yes. Previously maths teacher on ups1, now working in data analytics. Salary equivalent to ups2 soon rising slightly to L1. I'm not in London where I would be earning a lot more. But earn very well for my location/lifestyle.

I did my ultrasound course with an ex science teacher. There are a few direct access courses in the country if you have a degree. Salary is similar to teaching though, perhaps a bit more as starts at Band 7 nhs. Some 8s available if you want to progress but have to sell your souls to get that and no progression after that really.
