Where is my sodding kindle

I had a hysterectomy last Thursday, I have 4 DC youngest is 13 months, I can't do much but sit.

I had a book and managed to read it whilst the youngest had been napping but I finished it and there are several other books by the same author. I cannot drive so can't go to a book shop so I thought I would use my kindle.

Do you think I can find the bloody thing, nope nowhere to be seen. Please help me find it, if you were a kindle where would you hide.

@ApolloandDaphne oh my life I didn't even pick up on the draw/ drawer and even did it myself. I blame the painkillers.

I also fear you may be correct but we have A LOT of books / papers in this house in boxes and book cases. I don't have the energy to search anymore so phone it is .

It's been recycled in a pile of newspapers- mine nearly went that way at dpil's house. They found it in the recycling bag when I did find my phone and it rang!!

Hmm....you definitely had it when your baby was a newborn? Is there any baby equipment which has been put away e.g. Moses basket - might it be in there? Or with baby sheets/baby clothes?

Mine usually ends up in my dressing gown pocket as I read while I have breakfast.

My dh's kindle is in his bedside drawer. I put it there about a year ago when I was tidying and was fed up of his junk lying everywhere. He still hasn't found it yet.

@ApolloandDaphne no need for that - plenty of folk have dyslexia or English as a second language, or just didn't have a great education. It's snobbish and unkind to point out others' errors unless asked, or in a professional situation where it matters.

In this house, I have to check:
On top of the unit I never use
Coffee table
Kitchen side
Fridge.....
Bathroom sink
Side of the bath
In with the shoes in the hall
Dog bed

And I don't even have kids.....

Also a huge YES to bribing children to search for you.

Oh bloody hell, now you've got me wondering where mine is!

I have still not found it !

I have cleaned out 2 cupboards and 2 drawers looking for the bloody thing. I am slightly concerned it may have been thrown out with recycling as I usually know where everything is.

Weird places I have found mine:

Bathroom cupboard

Washing basket

Garden

Under bed

But I think by now, in your case, I'd be ordering a new one. Your old one can be a spare if it ever turns up.

Can you task the DC with sifting through the recycling bin if you're not up to it after your OP? If you bribe them with something desirable to them - McDonalds delivery or whatever, plus it will keep them occupied as a useful half term activity.

You didn't leave it at the hospital did you? Or in the hospital bag?
