How can I know when to conceive if cycle length varies?

It’s sometimes 29, 30 or 31 days long. How can I know when to conceive? It’s making me so stressed.

Why is it stressing you? I don’t know how long my cycle is, I’ve never tracked it. I can’t remember when my last period was and I don’t know when my next is due, I can hazard a guess at maybe in about 5-10 days from now but couldn’t narrow it down further.

I wouldn’t expect many people to have exact cycles. I’m clearly no expert but 29-31 seems very regular to me.

I never knew the date of my lmp when I did conceive and it was always a guess. I’m not very organised maybe. Scans showed the dates so it was OK and we went with those.

You can’t schedule sex but we tend towards the frequent so that part wasn’t a problem.

Use a tracker app? I use Flo and it gives me an estimation of when I am ovulating.

Have a lot of sex and thereby increase your chances of hitting the window 😁

You can temperature chart and that can give you a better indication.

I use Flo tracker aswell

CrazyOldBagLady · 01/06/2021 18:03

I had success using ovulation tests and th Premom app.

Just do the dead every other day and you won't miss it. I have very irregular periods and conceived three children by simply doing the above.

Sex everyday. Or if that seems too hard, sex everyday from day 7 of your cycle onwards. You can’t only have sex once a month and hope to get pregnant, you want to maximise the chances.

lilyboleyn · 01/06/2021 18:25

Look at your vaginal discharge. When it’s nice and elasticky, and fun to play with, that’s when you’re fertile (or so I’ve read Grin).

Dalmationcoat · 01/06/2021 18:26

Your cycle is very regular, I don’t understand why it is stressing you out.
My cycle varies from 25 to 56 days for no rhyme or reason. There’s no predictability in my cycle and I’ve still conceived babies

MyFloorIsLava · 01/06/2021 18:27

Pay attention to your body. When you find yourself feeling randomly really horny, you're about to ovulate. Failing that shagging on days 11, 13 and 15 ought to do it.

cheezy · 01/06/2021 18:29

There’s an app called Natural Cycles that involves you measuring your temperature daily, maybe try that?

InTheNightWeWillWish · 01/06/2021 18:37

My cycles varied from 38 days to 50 days when TTC.

Try to aim to have sex every two to three days. You can also use OPKs or other tracking to see when ovulation is. Google signs of ovulation and what to look out for in the few days prior to it, this is when you’re most fertile and should be aiming to have sex. You can start using OPKs to confirm ovulation after you notice the signs of upcoming ovulation. Generally, try to increase the frequency of sex near ovulation (although for us the month I got pregnant was the month we had sex once in the fertile week).

29-31 days is very regular. So I'd expect u ovulate maybe day 14-17. Everyone is different though and u may ovulate early, as expected or late.

My cycles were anything from 28 to 53 days after coming off the pill. Now that's what u call irregular. We just dtd every second/third day. After 6-7 months I got ovulation sticks to try and work out when I was ovulating to be sure and got pregnant a couple of months after that.

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 01/06/2021 19:50

Just have sex every day if you can, every other day if not.
