Overnight in Manchester as a birthday rest for my 9 DD, what to do?

This Saturday I'm taking my DD to a lovely hotel in central Manchester for a birthday treat. I've got three kids and like to give individual attention to each of them on special occasions, if I can. She's been really well behaved and I want to make a big fuss of her.

Any ideas on what to do in Manchester? We'll be there all day.

Museum of science and industry is good and worth a visit

The People’s History Museum is good too!

Afflecks? Animaid cafe in there seems to be really popular, was a huge queue of tween girls the other day!

Manchester Art Gallery is great, think there's a Grayson Perry display on at the moment!

All the above suggestions are great, there is also the Manchester Museum and the Whitworth gallery down Oxford Road.

Depending on her interests there is also outdoor theatre on at the moment homemcr.org/production/a-midsummer-nights-dream-homeground/

Probably best to avoid the NQ and Piccadilly gardens with a young child on a sunny Saturday as there will likely be a fair few drunks around sadly 😞
