Inexpensive bedding

Can anyone recommend bedding that is quite cheap but good quality. I want one or two king size duvet sets. I have put off buying because we were planning to buy a new bed (probably super king) but that's realistically a 6-12 months away as we are concentrating on other things.

We have one duvet set, which is mostly fine as I wash and put it on the same day, but I need at least one more for washing when this isn't possible and also want something slightly nicer as this one was coloured to match the decor in our old house. I don't want to spend a lot since we are likely to get a bigger bed.

Probably just something plain / one colour.

I'm thinking supermarkets may be the best place or somewhere like Matalan?

Well I’m usually a massive bedding snob but we came away this week on holiday without realising we had to bring our own bedding. We had to take a trip to the closest supermarket which happened to be an Asda and I am so impressed with the quality for the price!

I've got Asda bedding from at least ten years ago still going strong and looks fashionable.

Sounds like Asda is a winner

I hadn't thought of Wilco or TK Maxx (which is strange as I'm often recommending TKM for other things) so will check those too

sleep and soak

I found them on Which. As good as White Company, at about 1/3 of the price.

H&M look ok but their sizing looks odd too

I have some lovely Egyptian cotton bedding from wilko which has washed really well and is still going strong after about 5-6 years

Flidina · 01/06/2021 18:50

I've just bought some kingsize bedding from Dunelm, good quality and not too expensive.

Elphame · 01/06/2021 18:52

Asda is actually surprisingly good.

A lot of holiday cottage owners, including me, use it for the lets and it stands up as well as much more expensive brands.

CatalinaCasesolver · 01/06/2021 19:03

I have some really nice cotton ones from Matalan and IKEA.
Thought my favourite are from
Urban outfitters (around £50 so not that cheap)

Asda here too Decent quality and cheap

Cleverpolly3 · 01/06/2021 19:42

Depends if you want cotton or poly cotton
Asda does have some pure cotton stuff but lots is 50/50

La Redoute has loads of reasonable lovely cotton bedding online and I washed / lasts well

ElderMillennial · 01/06/2021 19:53

I would like 100% cotton

@3Britnee We always do that too! Feels more comfortable and not constantly doing a duvet tug of war at night!

lovelsa · 01/06/2021 19:57

We always buy our sheets from John Lewis. I just feel bedding isn't something I want to skimp on. A little treat at the end of a long day chasing my boys around.
