I agree with PP - could be endometriosis in the bladder.
Could also be an infection in bladder.
I would look into both possibilities
Best of luck. I had endo on my bladder and it is awful as well as chronic bladder infections. It’s horrendous. Best of luck xx

The symptoms I had were slightly different but some similar: Burning pain when peeing and itching, need for frequent urination, kidney pain, blood coming from urethra (but not just at period), sometimes in blood clots and clear liquid coming all the time from vagina along with flu like symptoms, fever and aches and pains. Around 50% of time I would test positive for uti, rest clear but always same symptoms.

I would get another test for an infection and one that is sent to hospital for analysis as I had false negatives from dip stick tests - one showed negative, same day the private test at hospital was positive with a bad, rare infection and when I told NHS they repeated their test 2 days later and got a positive. I think its worth checking as you have bladder and kidney pain. What I would find is the 3 day antibiotics would stop it and then it would reoccur so I think I needed longer antibiotics.

I would get as much testing as you can, I was never tested for endo but that looks worth investigating. I have fibroids and on the CT they found a very enlarged uterus but endo was never mentioned. I had lots of bleeding though at the same time from everywhere and so had lots of cancer tests but all negative. Hope you can find a solution.

Thank you guys for your concern. I have done stu and std tests all clear. Even when I take antibiotics all it does is pain my stomach and make things worse. Regarding the tampon check. I put the tampon in my vagina ofcourse then when I check blood is definitely coming from my urethra while on my period. I do not bleed from my urethra on a normal day but I feel clear discharge coming from my urethra I am sure.

@Namechange600 what did you do to help the endometriosis?

Hi I had excision surgery for endometriosis- found a good excision surgeon (not ablation) on Nancy’s nook. This helped a lot and got rid of pain and urgency.

I then realised I had problems still and turned out I also had autonomic dysfunction (POTS), EDS connective tissue disorder and Mast cell activation syndrome (body reacts strongly to histamine). This collection of illnesses that go hand in hand seems to have caused chronic bladder infections which I am getting care for too. I took a three week course of Antibiotics. I don’t think fully resolved for the infection but it is under control and have more investigations planned for future.

I can recommend my surgeon if you need one just DM me x

With antibiotics I react badly to all penicillin based ones and have to ask for alternatives. If you feel more ill on them may well have the same and you should tell doctor. If it says gives you a bad stomach they won't work as not staying in system. Though obviously they will only work if its a bacterial infection. It might not be if its always at the same time though.

Have you asked them to check for interstitial cystitis OP?

Dnika · 03/06/2021 01:57

@MirroredWindows@Silkiecats@namechange600 I am so grateful for u guys. I will check for interstitial cystitis. I did an ultrasound today. Because I got so tender from the antibiotics. I also ran some blood tests female executive to test everything as well as sti 9 panel swab and culture urine tests. Once those are back I will keep u guys updated. I do have fibroids the largest being 4.9mm. The doc suspects endometriosis. However the test for that is usd 3000. I am afraid of the laproscopy. Is there any other non invasive but good one to test for even endo on bladder? I think I have a mix of problems

There isn't a non-invasive way of diagnosing endometriosis, unfortunately. You have to go through the laparoscopy. The first one is a bit scary but after that they become very routine.
If you can raise the money, I would go ahead, because it's worth knowing if you've got it - it can unfortunately lead to worse problems if not dealt with.
Good luck.

Has anyone solved the issue of menstruating through urethra?

OP posts:
KLC83 · 03/12/2021 19:45

Hey there, I am also experiencing bleeding through my urethra when on a period. I had a baby a few months ago and closer to the end of pregnancy I noticed vaginal discharge at the top of my underwear - I kinda ignored it thinking my underwear didn’t fit well with being pregnant, but then I had the baby with zero complications until 5 weeks post partum when I got a period and it was coming out of both my vagina and my urethra. The OB sent me a for urine test, had infection and sent for an ultrasound - which came back clear I also went for a cystoscopy and that came back clear. I’m so frustrated because the urologist said that my underwear must be shifting. But I know my body and I know period blood is coming out my urethra. I don’t have urine come out my vagina so I have no clue how they can diagnose this. The urologist said she could send me for an MRI but read online they’d put dye in my bladder but I think I need dye in my uterus for it to actually show where the fistula is. So discouraged.
