I’d probably get rid of the pirate, but otherwise it’s just glorious!

I totally love it - not my taste and the pirate would give me nightmares, but what a great imagination. Love that the front of the fridge and units has matching illustrations. I love it when people do their own thing.

A bit Willy Wonka.

It's like the posh version of the pool in the living room that was on Kirstie & Phil's show.

@hilarymantlepiece

Not my taste, sorry.
I think this is very specifically one persons taste.
Eminybob · 31/05/2021 05:51

It’s absolutely bonkers. I do hope that whoever buys it keeps it exactly as it is, including the pirate. That’s half it’s charm.

Weenurse · 31/05/2021 06:03

I also immediately thought about how to dust the pool room.
Sad I know.

KidneyBeans · 31/05/2021 06:10

The floor plans are bonkers - it's very clearly a house for 1-2 people who live in the first floor with the other floors used for entertainment/services/guest room. I assume the tiny kitchen near the pool is because you have live in staff to bring you food so don't need on on the lining floor. It's definitely a way of life, not just a house

Dunno - I quite like the look of that pirate.

Has anyone actually clarified if the pirate comes with the property? 🤔🤣
Bearsinmotion · 31/05/2021 07:12

Agreed Eminybob. Either that or rip the whole thing out and replace it with something equally bonkers.

Nice house for a holiday, not sure I'd want to live in it, it's a bit much.

The main thing I know about Felix Dennis is that he said in a press interview that he had murdered someone. Then quickly backtracked when police took an interest, and said he had been talking drink-addled rubbish. Always wondered if he did kill someone or not.

Those are excellent points. The house is not meant to be a conventional house for a family.
Hairyfairy01 · 31/05/2021 10:40

I would worry about having a house fire with all that wood. Still, I kind of like it as a fun, second home.

Camdenish · 31/05/2021 10:43

I fancy that pirate.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 31/05/2021 10:51

The cannon could come in handy, to fend off cold callers!

I’d have to do some redecorating - and the dog would never be out of the swimming pool, but otherwise, I can see the attraction!

Turmerictolly · 31/05/2021 10:55

Also think the insurance premiums must be sky high with all the wood.

MajorNeville · 31/05/2021 10:58

Anyone else thinking of Spongebob?

ipswichwitch · 31/05/2021 11:12

A house like that needs more pirates not less!

lachy · 31/05/2021 11:16

It's utterly bonkers. I'd love to have a look around!

Camdenish · 31/05/2021 12:25

Spongebob, of course. I thought it looked familiar but I couldn’t work out why.

Camdenish · 31/05/2021 12:30

The murder revel came out on right at the beginning of April...one of the first days of the month.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 31/05/2021 13:34

I like some elements but overall it's not my cuppa.
so I won't lend you £4 for that reason and I'm out.

DiscontentedWoman · 31/05/2021 13:36

Man, that's ace. I would keep the pirate. I'm now going to buy a lottery ticket 😃

CaribouCarafe · 31/05/2021 13:54

I love it - kudos to the late owner for knowing what he wanted and bucking the norm!

To answer some queries above - oak is actually a reasonably eco-friendly material to use in the UK and is a more fire resistant type of wood.

I hope whoever buys it keeps the ethos going and doesn't just convert it into a boring family home!

Lighttunnelahead · 31/05/2021 15:31

@ImbarbaraB

That is bonkers

All that space and only a 6 seater garden set!

That's what I thought - how underwhelming!
