New method of payment on Ebay - 5 days to clear AIBU?

Ebay has now set up a new payment system for sellers whereby we have to have payments made via themselves instead of PayPal, which is okay....but...having sold an item on Thursday, Ebay tells me the buyer has paid and to send the item within three days, which I have done...only to discover that Ebay have hung onto to the money and it won't go into my account until tomorrow at the earliest, five days after the buyer paid!

With Paypal, once the buyer paid I could see the transaction in the account almost immediately.

Now we have to "trust" Ebay that the buyer has indeed paid.

I would rather see the money in MY account before I post the item - AIBU?

I had the exact same reaction. I’m just a casual seller but I used withdraw the buyers P&P money into my bank account and save the rest in my PayPal account until I had a nice little amount. It was enjoyable to see it building up and then getting to spend the money on something nice for myself.

Now I’m paying for P&P myself days before I see any money and it feels like just disappearing into my bank account. It’s a bit shit.
