Feels like DS is taking the piss.

DS spends most of the week with his gf at her parents'. He seems to come home only if we're having takeaway, which we usually do over the weekend. They pitch up, he washes his car, while she sits in his bedroom on her laptop, they eat with us, go to bed then disappear the next day.

When they go, there's no thanks, or any conversation via text/phone whilst he's at her parents'.

On one hand I feel like I ought to be the welcoming mother, on the other I feel he's taking us for mugs!

Seriously considering saying we're not having takeaway next week & see whether they visit us!

We need more details. How old is he? Is he working and contributing to the bills?

He's in his 20s, pays rent but lives at hers all week then comes over here once over the weekend.

They probably think they are doing you a big favour by coming over Grin

Try mixing it up a bit. Invite them to meet you in a pub / cafe instead? Suggest all going for a walk together?
And be grateful that you aren’t hosting the gf every night!
