SOS! Ulcer remedies!

Help! DD has a large ulcer on her hard gum above her tooth and she's in agony.

Too young for bonjela and iglu is useless. Does anyone have any tried and tested home remedies?

I always rinse with TCP and warm water but not sure how old your daughter is.
It works but it's an acquired taste!

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 28/05/2021 19:29

warm salty water rinses would help too

Warm salty water would help. Calpol will help her feel less sensitive. Lots of sleep and rest. Try not to buy toothpaste with SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) in it as it really irritated some mouths (like mine) and make mouth ulcers more likely. Sensodyne is good.

Anbesol teething liquid. It's amazing!

SpamIAm · 28/05/2021 20:12

There's a baby bonjela isn't there?

schroeder · 28/05/2021 20:21

aloclair gel works quickly for me and is suitable for all ages.
dm used to swear by wheatgerm oil if you happen to have some lying about the house. Grin

Northernlurker · 28/05/2021 23:09

Agree, anbesol is the way to go. As it's a liquid you'll be able to get it on her gum. It will sting and then soothe it.

PASStheCAKEandCHOC · 28/05/2021 23:12

Anbesol. Will sting at 1st then be numb.
Why too young for bonjella. Babies use that?

SpamIAm · 28/05/2021 23:37

@PASStheCAKEandCHOC there are different bonjelas. The standard one contains salicylates so isn't suitable for under 16s, like aspirin.
