Are these cleaner prices reasonable or an absolute rip off?

Hi everyone,

we're in the market for a cleaner at the moment. We're based in Birmingham.

We need a deep clean and then regular cleaning every fortnight for three hours.

We were quoted for the deep clean by a company ( this includes oven cleaning and carpet cleaning):

567 pounds + vat
2 day cleaning 8:00-14:30

and for the regular cleaning by the same company :

13.80 pounds + vat for a minimum of 3 hours per fortnight

Can you please let me know if this is excessive or normal? I have no experience. Thank you :) x

Dependent on the size of the property those prices could be huge or fine

If the deep clean includes carpet and oven I have recently paid £300 for lounge, bedroom carpets and two ovens to be cleaned (3 bed house)

I pay £13 PH for a cleaner

Sorry, I forgot to add, we live in a smallish 3-bed room standard semi-detached house.

I pay £14 per hour, minimum 3 hours. In outer London

Deep professional cleaning is very very different to a domestic cleaner.
I think it’s reasonable.

£16.50 per hour seems a lot for a cleaner. But I suppose it depends on if you can budget paying £100 a month for cleaning and if it's any good.

I think around £15 ph seems the norm, but do you really need the deep clean? Sounds more like an need of tenancy clean . I've had a spring clean and hired the cleaners for more hours, so 4 hours when they first started and then going forward had 2 hours each week. Many friends have fortnightly cleans. I now do it myself or should be doing it not being on MN

I went with another company in the end.

They will deep clean for 150 pounds and carpet clean for 120 pounds, so altogether 270 pounds. Vat already included.

The regular cleaning will be 28 pounds for two hours.

Much better than our first quote.
