Things in house just disappearing? Paranormal?

Okay I know you might think I'm mad but I'm genuinely serious 🤣
Weve lived on our home for 1.5yrs. We live in a terrace house so theres not much room for things to go missing. If I misplaced something I could easily spot it out.

My partner had a large glass for smoothies and milkshakes. one day it just disappeared. He got a large cup for his bday, used it and left it on his desk (I saw it, as did he) the next day it was gone.. these things have yet to turn up.

In this house I've heard crisps packets on the kitchen top crinkle and bags under the stairs make noise, the playstation and tv magically turning on (they are wired up in different rooms) just weird stuff. After noise on the kitchen by baby was staring so intensely at something, following whatever it was around till she reached the doorway and went back to playing. Most nights at 1ish I hear creaking up the stairs and then a noise on the doorframe. (We dont have doors, house is small) The other night after the creaking, a plastic wrapper besides my partners bed was being crunched, repeatedly. After 30secs or so I was like wth? I woke my partner up and as he did it stopped. I could see his hands the whole time. I've even saw a white shadow walk past the baby monitor multiole times and then it disconnects and reconnect again. Theres more but itd be too long.

All this stopped until I said to my partner? Remeber those glasses that went missing? It was all your stuff, maybe it doesnt like you as a joke. Now my stuff is going missing 🤣 the big bottle of salt? It's gone. It goes in one place and again it's pretty hard to loose and if I misplaced it, it would be easy to find. The celatape I needed to seal my parcel which was left on the kitchen top goes missing and I have to use masking tape. My babies doll goes missing, how can a 15 month old hide a large toy so intricately that neither me or my partner can find. I've searched everywhere, in every draw, in her toy box multiple times, even moving the furniture and checking behind it. It's just vanished? I'm

I've had a alot of paranormal stuff at my mums to the extent where I had carpet burn from holding on the bed cover which was ripped off me. With the stuff I experienced there youd think I was just repeating a horror film 🤣 I'm not going mad like these things are literally disappearing!!!! Has anyone else had this

@MrsFin

The crisp packet crinkling stuff is probably a mouse. Things going missing is either your DH playing a joke on you, or you are being forgetful as to where you leave stuff. I know this because, ghosts don't exist.
Know this for a fact do you?! I've walked into a room and seen my chest of drawers floating....

I saw my Dad the day after he died wearing clothes he was wearing when he died - which I didn't know because I wasn't present when he died!

I've witnessed mugs fly across the room, cutlery be thrown at the ceiling and cupboard doors open & shut right before my very eyes - I live alone! I'm a single parent now but had no children when these things happened. Before which point I also thought it was all nonsense....

They bloody do exist!

Poltergeist or human being deliberately doing this, both options are scary to think about.

No advice to you other then install cameras.

@Bythemillpond

The missing stuff is either your DH playing about or stuff is being misplaced

So Dh has kept the phone recharged for a few years then even though he was in a different country he flew back, let himself in the house, left the phone in the middle of the floor then caught a plane back before flying back a few days later.

I think you can come up with explanations but ultimately none of the explanations can cover what happens.

In our last house Dh who had to wear a tie for work woke up one morning to find he couldn’t find a single one.

They appeared a couple of weeks later

No - I wasn’t talking about your husband but the OPs. I don’t know what happened with your phone, you didn’t give many details. But there will be a rational explanation somewhere.

Stuff like this also happened in the house I grew up in.

We had a big mirror hanging over the sink in the bathroom and one day we came downstairs to find it was off the wall, neatly wedged between the toilet and the wall on the other side of the room to where it had been hanging. There's no way it could have fallen that way and no one else had access to our house. (We even had bolts on the inside of the outside doors as well as locks so don't see how anyone could have got through)

I'm not one to always jump to the conclusion strange happenings are definitely supernatural but so many things happened in that house, witnessed by different people that to me it seems more rational to think there may be something out there we don't understand than to explain away everything by a mixture of shared hallucinations, extreme forgetfulness, intruders etc. There just was no rational explanation for much of it

I don’t know what more details I can give. In a room that had a sofa, tv and tv table. Phone was left on the arm of the sofa. It disappeared then came back a few years later appearing in the middle of the room and still with charge.
I know I didn’t take it and Dh was the only other person in the house at the time and was angry his phone had disappeared.

We would love for this to have a logical explanation but we can’t think of one.

I've experienced paranormal in every house and it wasnt 24.7. Once it lasted for a year and never happened again, sometimes for a week and then itd come back a year later. I lived at my partners mums before my current home. I put my glasses on the set of draws beside me and they dissapeard when we woke. I'm a very light sleeper and the door makes one hell of noise when opened, no one took them and we turned the entire room upside looking. At 2am someone knocked on our door which woke me, no was there so decided to go down and get a drink, I walked past the stairs where theres a door to storage (everyone was asleep, I i checked! Also no one could fit in there). 3 very load, hard knocks happened on that door as I walked past. When everyone had left for work doors would close and open room by room and them itd come downstairs, the floors are creaky and I'd heard the bloody thing walk in to each room. I was sat in the living room and the doors handle lowered and slowly, fully opened, the family dog was staring at something and sat in front of me growling. (No one was in the house!) And it wasnt just me, others in the house had noticed this type of stuff about once or twice (mainly me, they like me for some reason) my partners dad is a construction worker and creates house builds. There was no explanation for these things to happen, he once saw the door open too and again.. no explanation. He is adamant that paranormal stuff is fake, but that day he said he questioned his belief. My partners brother said he saw his cup of tea slowly move towards the side of the table. The things I experienced at my mums was beyond believable and by anyone who hasnt experienced paranormal I'd be labbled a mad woman. I'm talking about shit floating, being awake and scratched, strands of hair pulled etc. I think anything to do with paranormal isnt believable until youve actually been there. All rational explanations dont fit in with it. I believe in science and beleieve what I see, I've seen unexplainable things happen (aswell as family members). That's why I believe in it. The validation from others in the house experiencing odd stuff too. It's so interesting hearing peoples stories and I understand the people who dont believe in them.

Seriously...have you got someone living in your attic?

Sophie1029734 · 28/05/2021 08:25

Also I want to add that the door handle was completely lowered until it became fully open. No human was there and no it didnt get stuck.

No and I can guarantee that.

Same thing happens to us. It's every time we change something in the house, weirdly. Not that we've moved stuff when decorating because it's always random and totally unrelated.

A few other things have happened, heavy box falling off the wardrobe right in front of me, was absolutely not unsteady and properly freaked me out.

I know it's not dp because it's often been his stuff and it's not ds because he hasn't been here when it's happened .

We've decided it's a previous resident who just doesn't approve of us changing his house.

I don't think he's trying to hurt or upset anyone just let us know he is here. I tend to apologise now when I do anything.

What's weird is the items turn up right in front of you, nowhere near where they live. In plain sight so here's literally no way you'd have missed them.

I did have a bit of the filler panel fly across the kitchen the other day whilst I was caulking and admittedly I did tell him to calm the fuck down and stop throwing shit around Grin

Stopped bothering now because I just see it as a grumpy old man having a whinge.

ThatOtherPoster · 28/05/2021 08:34

OP, ask out loud in the house for your child to get her doll back. Be polite but firm. Then report back! I bet it’ll reappear within a couple of days.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/05/2021 08:37

Absolutely agree with talking to it. Ask it to stop hiding your things because it's upsetting you and your daughter, and scaring you all.

Even if it doesn't work it will make you feel a bit better (more in control)

ElderMillennial · 28/05/2021 08:50

I believe you OP

Wow to the story about the phone disappearing and then reappearing 3 years later

FrenchieFromGrease · 28/05/2021 11:17

Can you contact a local medium / psychic to come to your house and investigate? They might be able to convince the spirit to stop nicking your stuff. You could find one by asking on Facebook, or calling a local crystal / witchy shop and asking if they know anybody.

It must be terrifying for you. I had similar once when I was house sitting for a family member. I was sat at the dressing table doing my make up, put down my lipstick, leaned over to get a tissue, and when I turned back the lipstick was gone. After searching for it I found it on the windowsill on the other side of the room. How did it get there when I had never left my chair? This happened with lots of stuff: my phone, cutlery, the TV remote. I'd put them down and 2 seconds later they'd be gone. I'd later find them across the room or in some improbable place. I found my phone in the waste paper bin once, and on top of my bed another time. It really freaked me out.

fantasmasgoria1 · 28/05/2021 15:31

Just writing to say I totally understand and believe you. I have had quite a few paranormal experiences and whilst scary they were also fascinating. I have seen many things move. I remember I had an organ. It wasn't even plugged in and the air went through it and a couple of notes came out. I got my mother and she had no explanation either! There have been others but it would take a while to type them out!
