Best cool bags/boxes?

Do I win the most boring thread ever?!

Anyway, we're taking a trip around 6 hours away and planning on packing meats etc for a bbq when we arrive plus salad stuff etc etc you get the very dull picture.

I'm looking at decent cooler bags or boxes but are they still much of a muchness or is there one that's head and shoulders above the rest such as Yeti?

We'll put ice blocks in also just need one that's good.

This thread is a few years old now so some of the suggestions may be outdated, but we’ve recently refreshed our best cooling boxes page with plenty of Mumsnetter-approved options. We hope you find it helpful.

For 6 hours most things will work fine.
We have an Icey Tek and can go on a 4 day camping trip and there's still ice in at the end

A cool box is much better than a cool bag for that time. Freeze some 2 l bottles filled with water ahead of time, then put them in the box overnight to precool it before you put everything in inc freezer blocks. We have Coleman cool boxes which work well
