He’s a breath of fresh air! I do get a bit fed up with Steve Wright banging on about how many hours it is until Serious Hocking! Wish Vernon could do a regular show.

I don't listen to Radio 2 in the afternoon purely because of Steve Wright.. I can't stand him singing the end of the songs!

Steve Wright is a knob.

Not a huge vernon fan, but he’s much better than Steve Wright. Cant believe they haven’t pensioned him off yet.

I turned Vernon OFF after hearing his screechy fake 'oh that was so funny' laugh at something someone said. He's got a terrible teenager presenting format.

Am now listening to greatest hits radio with the Simon Mayo drivetime show - much better!

I like Steve Wright but am really enjoying listening to Vernon instead this week. He is a breath of fresh air and seems genuinely interested in his guests. I do find his cackling high pitched laugh a bit irritating though, as a pp said.

I wish Gary Davies would permanently replace Zoe Ball in the mornings but also keep his 80s show on a Friday.

I really like Vernon as well! I love Zoe in the morning though, I don’t want her to leave. I used to like her on breakfast radio in 1999

I switch off as soon as Ken Bruce finishes and put on an audio book. Even a couple of minutes of Steve Wright get me annoyed, he's so annoying. I tried a bit of Vernon and thought he was OK, better than I thought he'd be.

I listen to Ken Bruce then do 4Xtra for the afternoon. I did try a bit of Vernon, to see what it was like. Nope. Not for me.

YANBU, I never listen to radio 2 in the afternoon, mainly because of Steve Wright who is dreadful and Jeremy Vine who is a patronising arse

My language when Steve Wright & his Guffawing Gang come on would make a sailor blush. Switch stations as soon as I hear him.

Steve Wright plays good music. Vernon sounds like he should be on a commercial station that employs celebrities. He's not crap, but a bit meh. Imho. Sean Keaveney is on 6 music at the same time, he's good.

I'm not enjoying Vernon though Steve Wright's Serious Jockin and him singing over the songs does my head in.

Here is my proposed new schedule ..... I would like Sarah Cox for the Breakfast Show, I will generously let Ken keep his slot, Graham Norton come back and do Jeremy Kyle's show, Gary Davis for the afternoon then (cos I love a bit of soul/ebb/dance) we will have Trevor Nelson and Craig Charles on rotation from 5pm. OK ?

Switch over to BBC Radio Newcastle after Ken Bruce. Then maybe the World at One on Radio 4 and back to Radio Newcastle.

Jeremy Vine is irritating and I hate the banter with Steve Wright and his "crew". If I had a decent radio in the car I would probably listen to something else.

Noooooo! I can't stand Gary Davies, he's such a knob. Bring back Wogan, he may be dead but he'd still knock spots off the breakfast hosts that replaced him. 😆
