Period starting day one of first ever mini break with new DP.

Hate being female sometimes!

Can i add to the moan - started taking the pill to try and control heavy bleeding and have now been bleeding for 3 weeks non stop! oh, and it only stopped for 8 days after the last bleed! I'm done with being a woman!

WhywhyDeliah · 27/05/2021 12:18

That’s so rubbish @emmathedilemma ! It really is shit sometimes isn’t it! Wine

FTEngineerM · 27/05/2021 12:19

That is so annoying🙄

On the plus side…. Worry free sex yay.

WhywhyDeliah · 27/05/2021 12:21

@FTEngineerM I don’t like it during bleeding. That’s a plus point for some though I’m sure!

Urgh so annoyed!

Get a mirena when you get back - no more periods!

blobby10 · 27/05/2021 12:56

I've had a mirena since 2017 and it hasn't stopped my periods! Vastly reduced the flow and made them 'normal'' for the first time in my life (now 52) but not stopped. Really hoping that's coming in the next few months 🤞

ha ha ha! Mine made me bleed so hard it bled itself out!! I'm fairly sure the same was said for the damn pill too......
FTEngineerM · 27/05/2021 13:16

Mirenia gave me a year long period 😬

SmidgenofaPigeon · 27/05/2021 13:20

Honestly I know mirena is a dream for some but I hate when people say blithely to ‘just get one’- I passed out when mine was fitted and went into cervical shock- it wasn’t I started properly and I could feel it dragging into my uterus for a year, begging the GP to take it out and being told to persevere, before actually having to pay privately to have it dealt with and, like I’d been saying all along, it was not in the right place. It didn’t stop me bleeding either.

Have you ever taken northisterone? I used to take it for every holiday and big events like my wedding. I was on the implant which meant my periods followed no set pattern and were very unpredictable. I am talking in the past tense as have dd now and cant see us jetting off or doing anything exciting for the foreseeable!!

trevthecat · 27/05/2021 13:35

Ask at the chemist (might be prescription only though) you can get tablets to stop it

OurChristmasMiracle · 27/05/2021 13:42

I’ve decided to cancel my subscription to being female and I also wish to cancel my subscription to being human.

Now I wish to be a cat

AlmostSummer21 · 27/05/2021 14:01

That's so crap!!

Still, it's also a good opportunity to see more of his true character. Tell him now & tell him that you don't enjoy PIV during this time.

See if he cancels, or ignores what you've said or acts like a complete keeper.

The first time I had sex with one (now ex) I got my period during it, we hadn't realised, there was blood everywhere! He was great, we showered, he stripped the bed, rang housekeeping, explained the situation, like an actual adult (and they came & put fresh sheets on) then asked me if I wanted him to go and get me anything.

He's only an ex because we were in different stages of our lives. Sadly.

WhywhyDeliah · 27/05/2021 14:13

Aw that’s nice @AlmostSummer21 DP is very lovely and won’t care one jot about it. I care very very much though as was looking forward to a pain free weekend, full of passion!

@Isababybel and @trevthecat thanks, I’m not sure I want to meddle with hormones and probably too late now!

When i first found out about northisterone (late'90s) i was so happy! But - as with everything to do with being female - it's not actually quite so wonderful ...

I've used it 3 times.
1.Weekend away with DH to be.

  1. Booked holiday of a lifetime and over 4 months periods managed to work their way around to coincide precisely.
  2. Same again but for my wedding!

When i take it (THREE times a day, remember, or else!) the bleed stops, but i still have:

  • spotting,
  • the wonderful bloated belly,
  • the bigger boobs,
  • break out skin,
  • can't stop eating,
  • the urge to burst into tears or verbally savage everyone at the drop of a hat
  • AND the cramps :(

Oh, and when you get home and stop the tablets you have the period from hell. Just for fun Hmm

In future i'm just going to have the damn period whenever it is.

emmathedilemma · 27/05/2021 14:31

It's too late for northisterone, you're meant to take it 3 days before you're due on.

WhywhyDeliah · 27/05/2021 14:40

It’s also the crying. Cried already today and nearly snapped at DP for absolutely no reason in hindsight Grin

OP posts:
Laiste · 27/05/2021 14:42

Oh god the crying.

That as well!

Well, from that POV it definitely is very very annoying!

However, focus on the fact you've got a 'keeper' and enjoy being creative!!

WTF that's horrendous! You poor thing!

The implant gave me really horrible mood swings - I mean flying into an absolute rage or feeling really low for no reason and the 'spotting' I was told about was more like a full period at comletely random times.

Who'd be a wonan, eh?

MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 28/05/2021 09:12

Mirena gave me a lady beard........i mean it stopped my periods too. But I don't think that was a fair switch. WinkGrin
