I saw something years ago, and I still think about it a lot now. Wondering if anyone has a similar story.

I lived in Bristol at the time, was on the flyover from South Bristol that faces the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Flying through the Avon Gorge was an enourmous military-looking plane. It looks like it was going to crash into the bridge but at the last moment, banked (not sure that's the term?!) up and flew off.

Got home and scoured news pages for weeks after to see what it was about but there was nothing!

I definitely saw it, and the people I was in the car with saw it too but it just seems so unbelievable!

Anyone else have a similar tale?

Years ago, DH and I were on holiday in a love peaceful Welsh valley area, we were standing on a bridge and the river was soothingly tumbling over the rocks below us.
It was early, the sun was just coming up, there was not a soul in sight.
Then all of a sudden a MASSIVE black military helicopter appeared from behind a hilly rock in front of us and came directly at us, over the little rooky bridge and away!
Frightened the shit out of us! 😂

Huge military aircraft won’t get into the news if no one reports it.

@Muddydoor this is true. There was a traffic jam on the flyover so 100+ in their cars, plus people in houses, on the bridge, in Clifton etc would have seen it. Unless you had your camera out already you'd have been unlikley to capture it.

Military planes do all sorts of stuff and play with really advanced technology. That sounds cool to see

riding through woods , horses suddenly on alert , nothing around that i could identify as unusual
serveral soliders then stood in in camouflage gear
They were bloody invisible

@AbsolutePoppycock That would have scared the living daylights out of me! Shock

Hacking out with a group of learner riders in the Fens where the landscape was completely flat and open, the Red Arrows surprised us from behind. I didn't know planes could fly that low. They were so low and fast that they were completely silent until they were overhead.
I had a few seconds to admire their tight formation as I galloped flat out along the track, and they were gone.

I had one of those planes come over the hill and over the car on the M74 once. It was so low I thought it was about to drop out of the sky and luckily the motorway was quiet because everyone braked! I did identify it on a website though.

On a beach in Brittany a few years back when a military plane came in really low and flew along the length of the beach packed with families, for seconds I thought we were all going to die, there was nowhere to run. I thought maybe it was going to be a terrorist attack.

We saw something weird at Glasgow Airport. A small grey plane came in hit the runway and took off again, it was covered in satellite equipments. It was bizarre.
