Urgh my mother warned me i was too old for an Ikea bed and I would get what I paid for 😣. I spent six hours in there and had a lovely time we bought two beds. Got it home and the two main pieces of wood are missing and Ive thrown away the boxes. They arent helpful at all said I should kept the boxes. I paid for the delivery and now Im going to have to pay for taxis to Wembley there are back arent I? No car. Ive got the receipt should that be enough? Its just two smallish pieces. They havent got serial numbers so I cant even order them. Whats my best move now?

Definitely do not return to the store...
I have had two incidents with missing bits from something from ikea.
The first time I went to the store. Kicked up a fuss and eventually they ripped open a new box to get the part I needed - i reckon the whole item of furniture was then thrown away.

The second time (chest of drawers with a handle missing) I went on the ikea website. Found a section about requesting missing parts and got the part I needed delivered to me- free of charge.

I have had the same problem with Ikea furniture (not a bed though) as regards missing parts. The customer service was non existent and I ended up contacting Resolver online to sort it out on my behalf. They were given a month to respond and responded on the twenty eighth day.I hope the beds are for thes spare room only!Your experience will hopefully be different to mine.Good luck.

I cant order on line as the wooden pieces dont seem to have serial numbers to use. This is my only day of and no its not the spare room😒

Ring them up. I got missing pieces delivered quite quickly with no cost.

They wont do anything without the delivery number. My friend paid for the delivery in the store he said theres no number! Even though i have the receipt they wont help without that delivery number

I'm confused, why would there be a delivery number if you picked them up in-store?

It sounds to me like they're sceptical because you don't have the boxes. It would be fairly unusual to not have the boxes still if you haven't managed to build the things because of missing pieces.

Sorry,I've reread. You ordered in store but got it delivered.

Surely you (or your friend) will have an email with the delivery number on? Ikea always confirm delivery by email and then send a follow up confirming the delivery time slot the day before.

We paid for same day delivery instore. They sent him a text link which opened up to the map of where they where on the road. That is all so far. Hes at work so i cant have a look myself.

Why do they even need it when i have my receipt?

I'm wondering if there are actually multiple packages for the bed (not unusual with Ikea) and they're wanting to cross check what was delivered?

EachandEveryone · 27/05/2021 12:39

1 2 3 we checked and double checked. One chap ordered the parts to send with dhl fab. Ten minutes later I get a text saying theres a problem. I ring the number and they dont know what im talking about.😢
