Sound in my ear is driving me crazy!

I have a throbbing, whooshing sound in my right ear that comes and goes, it usually is in the rhythm of my heartbeat and pulses. It's driving me crazy, I can't concentrate or sleep and it's been there for 3 days.

Please tell me someone has had similar and it goes away on its own?

"The most common symptom of pulsatile tinnitus is regularly hearing a steady beat or whooshing sound. The beat or sound is often in synch with the patient's heartbeat. When their heart rate increases, the beat or sound will become faster; when it decreases, the beat or sound will slow."

Sorry, I don't know the cure. I used to get this as a child all the time. It sounded like someone walking on gravel inside my head, in tune with my heartbeat. Mine did go away and I haven't had it for years but I don't know if it's a cause for concern if you experience this as an adult.

That's worth seeing a doctor - it is the form of tinnitus that may be treatable.

If it's in one ear you need to see a doctor. Not saying that to alarm you, it will almost certainly be harmless, but you must see one.
